Searching

I've been searching through the photo albums in my computer to find some pictures that would give me a clue as to what to write about this morning. I woke up at four a.m., so what is there to write about at that time of the morning when I should be sound asleep. This early rising is for birds and bees but my body clock says otherwise. I'm awake so I might as well get up and get on with my day. I can always have a power nap or two later. The winter rains continue and daughter Pat is very good about giving me a ride out to see what the wind does to our waves. The ride along the Oregon roads is always restful and I must do something about taking some pictures of the huge redwoods down the road away. It is always a serene and beautiful ride and the aroma of pine makes everything all right with our world. Thursday the Casino has a senior lunch for $3.50 and they have a decent menu. It is always crowded and presently the new addition is about to be opened, a new dining room which we have watched its rise from the huge hole, the fill, the layout and enjoyed the hard work of the construction crew. How much I admire the construction workers who bring life to a structure with skill and finesse to the end product. In this case a new room, huge, and I am sure it will be beautiful . . . and, the old room becomes a smoke free room for players allergic to second hand smoke. A lot of folks have quit the habit, but there are more who need to pay attention to what is happening to their lungs . . . and ours. I played my four card keno and enjoyed the game, no big wins, just the usual four out of five spots, or six out of seven spots which gives me play money and then I can try a different machine like the "Survivor" game I played yesterday and got the back games several times. I got my money back and went home with 'my' money, paid for lunch . . . it was my turn . . . three fifty each, how cheap can I get? A cheeseburger and heartburn, how lucky can I get? All in all, I had an 'outing' away from the Noah Ark puzzle which has taken over my dining room table . . . it is huge . . . I may be working on this one until summer comes. I am still trying to get the frame, all the pieces are there but not in the right spots. It is not going to be an easy one so I might as well practice patience and take it one piece at a time.
As for my friend "Maxine", with her tongue in cheek humor, I thought was loved by all isn't. A friend wrote that she can't stand her . . . wow . . . um, wonder if we will be friends long. I love her wry humor. I can't think of anyone I know who doesn't love the men in their lives, well, maybe one or two . . . smile, after all they do the best they can, as we ladies do 'egg' them on. I'll take my musing to breakfast and listen to the news and look at the blizzard pictures which are awesome and I'm already wondering about the spring thaw coming soon. Lent starts the 17-th so it is time to start thinking about what you can do for forty days. What sacrifice are you willing to make? It isn't easy but on Easter Sunday when you have accomplished your goal, the sense of well being and pride are yours and you may have gotten one more lost soul into Heaven, and have given yourself a gift that no one else can. So, today think about the coming season and start planning for warmth and sunshine in your lives.
